Most Conversion Service Providers require a sample copy before giving a price quote. This requires time and effort just to get a job started. Not at TMS, our price is set no matter how busy the plan or map is.

TMS specializes in all types of conversions including maps of all kinds, architectural, mechanical and engineering drawings, site and subdivision plans, utility plans, and parcel maps. We can produce files in any CAD and GIS format including AutoCAD (DWG, DXF, MicroStation (DGN), ArcView (SHP), ArcInfo (Coverage) and many others.

Our files are completely hand drawn and no auto recognition is done. First files require client approval prior to completing project to insure the file meets client needs and expectations.

TMS can also link databases and other intelligence to files and GIS maps, etc.

Drawing Submission:

How to Get a Quote - Ship with drawings to TMS. (See address on Order Form). We prefer clear, clean copies and not originals when possible. If shipping originals, please be sure to have a set of duplicate copies. Although absolute care is taken at all times, TMS cannot be held responsible for original drawings. Also, please supply any special requirements like layering standards*, title blocks, fonts, CAD standards, file naming conventions, etc.

* TMS will use American Institute of Architects (AIA) Layering Standards if client has no layering standard.

Preliminary Approval - TMS will create files as requested by the client on a few initial drawings and will submit those to the client for review and approval prior to completing entire project.

Drawings Returned - If the project involves scanning of paper drawings, these drawings will be returned as soon as possible after being scanned. The digital files will then be delivered to client on CD and/or from our FTP site on the Internet when complete.

Confidentiality:

Guaranteed Confidentiality - TMS guarantees confidentiality and any information, data, files, copies or any other information supplied to TMS in the course of our business relationship with our clients. Any information submitted to TMS during the course of a project will not be disclosed in any manner to any third party for any reason.

Ownership - All data, files and information submitted to TMS or generated during the course of a project belongs solely to the client that contracted and paid for the project.

TMS has large document color plotting capabilities to provide professional looking maps, site plans and documents in full color or black and white. With our solid color fill software, we are able to create stunning full color plots in any size up to 36" x 48". CAD, GIS, desktop publishing, word processing and Windows applications can be plotted. Thompson Mapping Systems, Inc. utilizes the latest technology to provide professional reproduction services including black and white and full color copies and plots from "A" size - 8 1/2" x 11" (and smaller) to "E" size - 36" x 48" (and larger) in any quantity. Our equipment includes HP Color Plotter, Oce' Engineering Copier, Canon Color Copier and Xerox Copier. Copies and plots can be made on bond paper, Mylar, vellum, transparencies, glossy paper, etc. Turn around is exceptionally fast.

Credit Card: Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted by TMS. Credit card charges are processed upon completion of the project. First time clients must provide a credit card or check for 20% of initial order. Net 30 can be setup for regular clients after initial project.

Purchase Order: Purchase orders are accepted by TMS from pre-approved clients for net 30 invoicing.
