The Kent County Director of Planning Services, Ms. Connie Holland, selected interested citizens to serve on the Kent County Comprehensive Plan Update Technical Review Committee.  During the fall of 2000, the Kent County planning staff conducted twelve Comprehensive Plan workshops as part of our mandatory update process.  Currently, the results of these workshops and information provided by various State Agencies are being compiled and incorporated into the updated chapters of the Comprehensive Plan.

The Kent County Comprehensive Plan Update Technical Review Committee members represent many different segments (Builders, Environmentalist, Concern Citizens, Real Estate Professionals, etc..) of Kent County society.   The primary purpose of their membership, is to review the draft chapters of our Comprehensive Plan Update and provide comments as the representative of their area of concern (Builders, Environmentalist, Concern Citizens, Real Estate Professionals, etc..).  Additionally, the Kent County planning staff will be providing the Technical Review Committee, monthly status reports regarding data collected and issues concerning the progress on the Comprehensive Plan Update.  It is our hope that by using the Technical Review Committee, important land use issues can be better articulated in the Kent County Comprehensive Plan Update.
